DIY

I found this in an magazine,
I think it looks great to stitch.

Stitch’ o holics anonymous

Hello my name is Nicky I am a Stitch’ O Holic, I stitch all the time , even when I should be cleaning, If I don’t do it 3 am, I do it in bed late at night, or get up at 5 am.

If I can’t stitch I go on the net and look at charts or stitching packs I could order, or download.

I convert anything into a chart,, photos from a magazine, my hand on the copier,, how desperate am I ? My name is Nicola and I am a stitch' O Holic.

A new day

Endless salutations,

After a horrible night shivering away, freezing my little bottoms of, I woke up telling me not to be put down by it. So I went on to the computer and scoured my favourite websites for charts I to purchase,, “just looking” I telling myself,, but yesterday the great urge overcome me, and I went on to a new site,, not seen by me before called”” http://handmaidenxstitch.wordpress.com””
Great website i went and bought I think about 8 designs,, but, the charts are really good value,

Anything from $2.99, $3.99 and so on,, I bought the black work –feeding the rabbits- , so nice, and a few more,, worth looking at it. And if you are like me and follow your family tree, there is also a chart for that. But at the moment I am stitching an older chart from a Jane greenhoff magazine,, i tore the pages out,, it’s a “cat on the window”

A frog for my birthday

I am not that fond of reptiles, especially when running freely in and around my house,, I prefer the fury snugly pets,, (maybe too many times scratch my sofa and leave claw marks) but I am sure.

But what do you not do for your children,, so I decided for Joanna’s 20th Birthday,, I will stitch her a frog,,,, very nice frog,, I actually like,, its colourful, good size, quiet, does not need feeding or mucking out, don’t have to worry when going away for the weekend,,

Just takes some time to stitch.
As you can see I have just received the threads and aida for the chart. I ordered it from
http://www.sewandso.co.uk/
not Expensive for the size it is at all. I will be stitching it on a Zweigart 11 count white aida 39x43 which is much to big.. but a little extra is ok.
I needet 50 colour threads all in dmc.

HOW I STARTED
1. I counted how many stitches  I wanted as a frame. I decided on 30 all  around, that will give me plenty of room for a good stretch over the board for the framing.
2. I took a needle with black thread(2) and marked the outlines of the picture. On the 30th block of the aida of the frame.
3. The finished size is 184 wide by 245 high
4.92 wide is the middle and 122.5 for the hight
5. I then tool all the threads and wrapped them around the floss bobbins. marked them with the numbers.
got a pack of gold plated needles, and started my project.

 Picture update will follow soon.
